Geocaching

Geocaching sites open plus touch-free Adventure Lab available

Geocaching sites in Highlands East are once again open as part of Ontario's Stage 3 reopening. A touchless Adventure Lab is also available that you can do with your smartphone to allow you to still have fun geocaching and see some sites throughout the municipality without having to touch any physical caches.

Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a family friendly outdoor game.  It's often referred to as “treasure hunting with a high tech twist” because you use the geocaching.com website and either a GPS device or a smartphone.

The Geocaching Capital of Canada website has all the information you need to learn about the game. GPS Rentals are available from the Visitor Information Centre and come preloaded so you can start playing right away.
