Hosting an Event
Planning your event? Be sure to read the Planning Accessible Events Booklet. This helpful guide is for people who plan events such as festivals, community meals, meetings and any other type of public gathering. It includes information on cheap or free ways that can help reduce barriers for people with disabilities and make events more inclusive and successful.
Submit Your Event to the Calendar
Steps to take when planning your next event:
- Decide on the facility location that accommodates the needs of your event.
- Review the Planning Accessible Events Booklet
- Contact the Municipal Office to ensure your preferred facility will be available.
- After confirming facility availability, complete the rental application and submit it to the Wilberforce office.
- Office staff review the application information and will provide full cost details.
- Provide the required security deposit to secure your booking.
- Arrange to pick up the key for the facility during business hours.
- Events including alcohol sales or service do require a Special Occasion Permit.
Alcohol can only be served by certified Smart Serve persons volunteering or hired for your event. The Special Occasion Permit can be obtained from the local Liquor Control Board of Ontario outlet.
- Item 35 of the Rental Agreement lists the maximum capacity for LCBO permits for each facility in Highlands East.
- Note that inflatable devices such as bouncy castles are not permitted within or on any Highlands East property.
