Half-load Restrictions in Effect

Half-load restrictions have been placed all municipal roads throughout Highlands East as of March 6, 2026.

In accordance with the Highway Traffic Act, municipal highways are subject to reduced loading of 5 tonne per axle when signs are on display. Roads are at their weakest during the spring thaw, and vehicles exceeding these weight limits are subject to enforcement by the MTO and/or OPP.

Restrictions will remain in place until further notice and will be lifted when roads are deemed to be able to carry full weight with no restrictions.
