Flags lowered in honour of former CAO Sharon Stoughton-Craig

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of former CAO/Treasurer Sharon Stoughton‑Craig, who passed away on Monday. The Municipality of Highlands East has lowered the flags throughout the Municipality to half-mast in her honour.

Sharon dedicated more than 45 years of service to local government, leaving a lasting and meaningful impact on both the former Township of Monmouth and the Municipality of Highlands East. Throughout her remarkable career, Sharon was a steady leader, a trusted mentor, and a true pillar of our community.

Her contributions extended well beyond administration. Sharon played an instrumental role in building and supporting organizations that continue to strengthen our community today, including her positive and lasting influence on staff and the Central Food Network. Her commitment to public service, collaboration, and community care helped shape the municipality we know today.

Sharon's legacy lives on through the people she mentored, the organizations she helped establish, and the countless positive impacts she made along the way. She will be remembered with gratitude, respect, and fondness.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
