Financial Assistance Available for Ice Storm Recovery
The devastating ice storm that swept through Ontario on March 28, 2025, left a lasting impact on many communities—including right here in Highlands East. From downed trees and power outages to disrupted local services, our residents and small businesses have shown incredible resilience in the face of adversity.
We’re pleased to share that the Ontario government is stepping up with targeted support through the Municipal Ice Storm Assistance and Business Ice Storm Assistance programs. These initiatives will help cover emergency response and clean-up costs, and provide much-needed relief to small businesses, farms, and non-profits that were affected.
If you have a small business, farm or non-profit that has costs related to the ice storm that were not covered by insurance, visit the Business Ice Storm Assistance program website to learn more and apply.
