Garbage and Recycling Pick-Up

Household garbage and recycling pick up is available to residents of the Cardiff townsite, Dyno Estates and Bicroft Heights. This is a user pay system for these residents only.

Notice regarding improper curbside garbage and recycling

Residents using curbside pick-up are asked to ensure they do not overfill garbage bags and to refrain from putting out improperly sorted recycling or recycling that is not to be collected according to the Curbside Recycling Calendar. Failure to do so can lead to refused collection of your materials.

Pick-up schedule

Garbage pick-up is weekly and recycling is weekly, alternating between fibres and containers. View our online Curbside Recycling Calendar to learn more.

Holiday pick-up schedule

Garbage and recycling will be collected on all holidays except Christmas and New Year's Day.  If your collection day falls on these holidays, your garbage and recycling will be collected the following day.

Pick-up guidelines

To ensure your material gets collected, follow these guidelines:

  • Do not put unacceptable material at the curb
  • Set your material at the curb no later than 8:30 a.m., on Wednesday
  • Only use clear garbage bags for waste
  • All recyclables must be properly sorted, bundled, tied or placed in a Blue Box for pick up
  • Items not properly sorted or placed at the curb on the wrong week will not be collected
