Waste disposal cards

A valid waste disposal card is required for entry to the landfill sites or transfer station. Be prepared to show the attendant your card when you arrive.

Getting a waste disposal card

Waste disposal cards are valid for three years. Cards are mailed out to residents with their property tax bill. If you misplace your waste disposal card, please contact the municipal office to have a new card issued to you. Replacement cards can be purchased at a cost of $10.00. Temporary, one-time passes are also available by purchasing a Cottage Kit.

Landfill fees

Fees apply to various items disposed of at all landfill sites in Highlands East. Visit the Landfill Fees page for a complete list of the items accepted and the fees associated with them.

How to pay

Our landfills and transfer station accept cash or cheques.

As a COVID-19 safety measure, cash will no longer be accepted for landfill tipping fees. Your information will be collected and an invoice will be mailed to you. Learn more about this change.
