Doors Open comes to Highlands East on September 14th and 15th

Come and celebrate the heritage of Cardiff, Highland Grove, Wilberforce, Tory Hill and Gooderham at Doors Open Highlands East taking place September 14th and 15th 2019. Take a tour inside some buildings otherwise closed to the public, find out how high tech ice is made at Hyland Ice in Wilberforce and discover the history of our communities.

Discover the Artists of Highlands East with a quality studio tour of fine arts and crafts amidst the breathtaking scenery. Come out this weekend (August 17 and 18) from 10AM to 5PM and see fine artists and artisans on site at 7 locations throughout Highlands East - 9 located at site "E" located at 1524 Ursa Road, Highlands East. More artists, less travel! 

See oil, watercolour, acrylic paintings, ink drawings, mixed media including needle arts, unique artistic pieces, wood, wire and metal hand painted accents, barnboard creations, metal embossing, original encaustic, stained glass, flora and fauna paintings in ink on wood, printing, silk screen, etchings, portraits, dream catchers, medicine shields, hand drums and much more.

Hike Highlands East during the 2019 Hike Haliburton Festival

The Hike Haliburton Festival takes place September 18 through the 22 and sees over 2,000 people participating in over 100 hikes throughout the beautiful Haliburton Highlands.

Over 150 Prizes to be raffled at the Keith Tallman Memorial Area in Wilberforce on Saturday, July 20, 2019. Browse the tables and purchase tickets from 1PM to 3PM and 5:30PM to 8PM.

Plus, enjoy kids' games and activities, snack bar, face painting, exhibit tables and create your own hat at the Mad Hatter table before showing off your creation during the Hat Parade at 7:30PM.

There's something for everyone at the Wilberforce Agricultural Fair!

Gates open at 6PM on Friday, August 9th and at 9AM on Saturday, August 10th. Admission on Friday night is FREE compliments of our sponsors Wilberforce Guardian Pharmacy and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 624. Adult admission on Saturday is $7 for adults and children under 16 get in for FREE. For a complete schedule and more details visit WilberforceFair.com or visit the Facebook page.

Join us for an authentic country fair. Friday night events include children’s dog show, Lions Club food booth and pony pull. Saturday morning we kick off with a tractor parade at 10AM into the Fair grounds. Come with an appetite as the Lions Club will have their breakfast food booth open. The days events include horse drawn wagon rides, sheep shearing, pedal tractor pull, Gord Kidd and Friends on stage, pony rides, horse draw, petting zoo, frog show, nail driving competition, penny raffle, bouncy castles, and much more.

The Highland East Vistor Information Centre is located at 2786 Essonville Line in Wilberforce (at the Curling Club) and is open daily, mid-May through Thanksgiving from 10:00AM through 4:00PM (closed Tuesdays) and offers mineral permission to collect forms and directions, geocaching information and GPS rentals, trails, events and other general area information.
