Total Fire Ban In Effect
The total fire ban in Haliburton County (including all of Highlands East) remains in effect. Dry conditions, high heat, and a lack of significant and sustained rainfall has maintained the extreme fire risk.
All permits remain cancelled and campfires, charcoal BBQs (propane is allowed), fireworks and flying lanterns are strictly prohibited during the fire ban.
Highlands East and Haliburton County Fire Services continue to monitor the situation and will lift the ban when appropriate; Significant rainfall amounts over an extended period of time are required to change fire danger conditions.
Businesses and individuals can use the printable fire ban poster available for download below to notify the public.
