Fire Ban Lifted: Burn with Caution
The total fire ban in Haliburton County (including the Municipality of Highlands East) has been lifted as of July 26th.
Please be advised that ground cover is still very dry, so caution should be exercised with any fires. Please burn responsibly and according to the Burning By-Law as standard burning regulations are still in effect and the following rules need to be adhered to:
- No day time burning is allowed;
- All fires must be attended by a competent person at all times;
- You must have a means of extinguishment readily available;
- Fires must be completely extinguished before going to bed or leaving the fire.
