Day Trip: Paddling to High Falls
This is a spectacular adventure for the paddler!
Take Elephant Lake Road until it turns into the Peterson Road. At the old Martin Lumber mill, the York River crosses under the road from Benior Lake. Park and paddle up the river past the mill. Your water journey will end just before the base of the falls. Take to the land and you can follow a very well used foot trail to the falls. If you haven’t seen “this” High Falls, then it is high time you did!
If you don’t paddle, you can follow Peterson Road. Look for signs to Algonquin Provincial Park’s High Falls parking lot. It is a moderate hike to the base of the falls.
