Tax Collector Position Available
The Municipality of Highlands East is seeking an individual to work as the full-time Tax Collector reporting to the Deputy Treasurer/Tax Collector.
The successful candidate will report to the Deputy Treasurer/Tax Collector, and will be responsible for providing administrative support services to the tax collection function of the Municipality.
Applications will be received up until May 21, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Wilberforce Municipal Office.

Summer Student Positions Available
The Municipality of Highlands East has two positions for students available for the Summer of 2010. Applications must be received by 3:00PM on April 30th, 2010.
Parks & Recreation Assistant
Reporting to the Environmental/Property Supervisor, the successful applicant will be working in the maintenance of municipal parks and recreational areas. (Pools, arena, tennis courts, municipal beaches, etc.)

Marketing & Tourism Assistant
The successful candidate will report to the CAO and Clerk. They will work closely with municipal staff, local businesses, county and provincial agencies and collect information on business activities and tourist attractions in the Municipality. From the information collected, the successful candidate will develop and implement strategies for marketing and promoting the area.

Accessible Customer Service Policy and Procedures
The Accessibility Standards for Customer Service (Ontario Regulation 429/07) came into force on January 1, 2008. If you are a provider of goods and services, and have one or more employees in Ontario, you will be required to comply with this regulation.
If you are a public sector organization designated in the standard, you must comply by January 1, 2010.
If you are a private business, non-profit organization, or any other service provider with at least one employee in Ontario, you must comply by January 1, 2012.
The Corporation of the Municipality of Highlands East has established an accessible customer service policy, procedures and practices, and has provided staff with training. The procedures and practices sets out a feedback process, notice of service disruptions and more.

Christmas Office Hours
Municipal Offices in Cardiff, Wilberforce, and the Building Department in Gooderham will be closed over the Christmas Holidays from December 24th 2009 to January 3rd 2010 and will reopen on Monday, January 4th 2010 at 9:00 a.m.
