2010 Municipal Election: Check the Voters' List!
The Wilberforce Municipal Office located at 2249 Loop Road will be open to the public on Saturday, October 2nd to allow them to confirm that they are on the voters’ list, to make application to amend the voters’ list and to pick up a voters’ kit.
The office will be open on the following date and time:

The Voters’ List is made available for the public to review from September 1, 2010 to October 24, 2010 during regular office hours and October 25th at the Wilberforce Office until 8:00 p.m.
To assist us in ensuring that your Vote By Mail Kit is mailed to you during the week of September 27, 2010, you are asked to confirm that your name and correct mailing address is on the list before September 13, 2010.
In the event your name is not on the Voters’ List, you may, upon application (available for download below) add your name to the Voters’ List from September 7, 2010 until the close of voting on October 25, 2010 at 8:00 p.m.

2010 Municipal Property Assessment Corporation Conducts Enumeration
As this is an election year, the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation will be undertaking various enumeration activities to confirm or collect occupant information about each individual owning or occupying property in Ontario. 2010 Municipal Election: What you need to know about Vote-by-Mail
The Municipality of Highlands East will again use the alternative voting system “Vote-by-Mail" for the 2010 municipal election. This alternative voting method was successfully used in the 2000, 2003 and 2006 municipal elections and was found to be very efficient and yielded a high voter turnout.
Vote-by-Mail eliminates polling stations, advance polls and proxy voting. It transforms every mailbox into a ballot box. Voting is as easy as mailing a letter. Vote-by-Mail kits will be provided to every person who qualifies to be an elector.
How To Cast Your Vote
In addition to using Canada Post Mail, electors may drop off their Return Voting Envelope at the following locations during their regular office hours, Mondays through Fridays as follows:

Important Dates
If you are an eligible voter you will receive your Vote-by-Mail kit the week of September 27, 2010 and the deadline for your Vote-by-Mail kit to be returned is October 16, 2010.
