Positions Available: Parks & Recreation Summer Students
The Municipality of Highlands East is currently seeking two (2) Parks & Recreation Summer Students.
The Parks & Property Department has two student positions available for the summer of 2017. The successful candidates will report to the Property Supervisor. This position requires students to assist in the Parks & Property Department performing interior & exterior maintenance of municipal buildings & parks properties.
Students will be required to work 32 to 40 hours per week including weekends. Weekend work is for Garbage collection. May 15th to June 30th Saturday and Sunday shifts will be on a bi-weekly rotation for 4 hours per day. Starting July 1st students will be required to work every Saturday for 4 hours.
To apply, general skills & education preferred include:
- Related education and work experience
- Maintenance and cleaning experience i.e. grass cutting & weed eating
- A valid “G2” driver’s license and provide a recent MTO Driver’s Abstract upon being offered and prior to starting employment
- Valid First Aid/CPR Level “C”/AED certification, would be an asset
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety & WHMIS, would be an asset
